Imbabala offers not only the chance to unwind but also some of the most amazing game viewing and bird watching in the region, in the seclusion of a private National parks concession. This area is well known for its massive elephant population and herds of up to 1500 have been seen on the floodplains below camp. |

Description:
Situated on the western boundary of Mana Pools National Park, Ruckomechi Camp is a naturalist's paradise. The mystical Zambezi River forms the northern border of the area with a wide variety of habitats evident - open floodplains, mopane woodland and riverine forest with the mountains of the Rift Valley escarpment forming the backdrop in neighbouring Zambia. The area is renowned for large numbers of elephant, buffalo, hippo and eland, especially in the winter. Predators such as lion, leopard, wild dogs and cheetah are all found in the area. Birdlife is superb with numerous local specials like Collared Palm-Thrush, Racket-tailed Roller, Purple-banded Sunbird and Black-throated Wattle-Eyes. |
